What is Show Notes?
Show notes are the written summary that accompanies a podcast episode, typically including a description, key topics, timestamps, guest details, and links.
Good show notes serve two audiences. For listeners, they set expectations and make an episode scannable and shareable. For search and answer engines, they turn spoken content into indexable text — often the only text a podcast produces.
Strong show notes go beyond a paragraph: they include the questions the episode answers, notable quotes, and links to related resources. Paired with a transcript, they make an episode page a real SEO asset.
For financial firms, show notes are also a place to add any required disclosures.
